Fun with Science: Design and Build Your Own STEM Toys (8-12 yrs)
Introducing children to STEM toy projects not only fosters creativity and problem-solving skills but also cultivates a deeper understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics concepts in a hands-on and engaging manner. By experimenting with mentally stimulating projects, children learn to apply critical thinking, explore cause-and-effect relationships, and develop spatial awareness. Moreover, these experiences spark curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, laying a strong foundation for future academic and career success in STEM fields.
In the course of this workshop, children will learn:
- Centre-of-Gravity-based Dancing Bird
- Mixing of Primary Colours with LED Lights
- CD Spectrograph
- Magnetic Repulsion-based Dancing Doll
- Chromatic Magnetic Wheel
- Action-Reaction-based Pedal Boat
Workshop conducted by Birla Industrial & Technological Museum (BITM) in Kolkata
Birla Industrial & Technological Museum (BITM) in Kolkata, the first science museum in the country under the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, is engaged in popularizing and promoting science especially among the youth through various interactive models, exhibitions, educational programmes and activities throughout the year.
