Discovering Life: A Journey into Life Sciences (13-18 yrs)

Introducing students to Life Sciences through immersive workshops cultivates a profound comprehension of biological concepts. These workshops encompass a range of activities aimed at honing students' scientific skills and fostering critical thinking. Through hands-on experiences like laboratory techniques, microbial culture preparation, and observation under specialized microscopes, students develop a keen eye for detail and analytical prowess. By exploring topics such as photosynthesis and plant biology through chlorophyll extraction and pigment observation, students gain a holistic perspective on life sciences.

In the course of this workshop, children will learn:

• Dissection and study of flower through Zoom stereo microscope
• Preparation of microbial culture media
• Isolation of microorganisms from the air
• Simple staining of isolated bacteria 
• Tests of carbohydrates and proteins
• Extraction of chlorophyll and observation of different pigments
